WORDS TO LEAD BY: Communicate - Compromise - Compassion

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (Fall of 2021) - Master’s Degree in Education Administration and Supervision - Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Director of Pupil Services and Special Education Licenses

University of Minnesota - Duluth (Fall 2017) - Bachelor of Applied Science in Integrated Elementary and Special Education

I am the Principal at the Intermediate School. Our school has a unique population of third through sixth grade students. We run both an elementary and middle school schedule. Our students have the opportunity to experience a wide range of related arts such as band and chorus at the upper grades, in addition to technology, library, physical education, Spanish, music, and art at all levels.

Prior to coming to Luxemburg-Casco, I was the eighth grade special education teacher at Denmark Middle School, as well as the middle school athletic director. Both positions allowed me to develop my leadership skills and work with a wide variety of students, staff, families, and community members. Aside from teaching and being the athletic director, I also was part of the District Instructional Leadership Team, Teaching and Learning Team, a volleyball coach, and coordinator and lead trainer for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. The many extracurricular opportunities I engaged in strengthened my core beliefs around education and instruction, as well as heightened my passion for doing what is best for students.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Wes, and our dog, Skeeter. I also love participating in sports/physical activity. I currently play competitive volleyball two nights a week and in tournaments on the weekends. Additionally, I like to run, engage in strength training, and golf. I am also an avid baker and experiment with new and interesting recipes often.

Working with students who require special education services is a passion of mine. My personal experience in a special education program for six years has really helped me define my beliefs around education. Those beliefs are that all students can learn when they are given the right opportunities, resources, attention, love, and support. Every student deserves to feel loved, heard, and valued from the moment they walk through the school doors, to the moment they leave. My goal is to ensure students get what they need to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom. My hope is that as a parent, caregiver, community member, etc., you have similar beliefs and are willing to partner with me to provide students with the best educational experience possible.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you.
